Invasive Plants

Invasive plants can damage the soil structure and compete with native plant species, which can reduce biodiversity and alter the ecosystem. Additionally, some invasive plants have deep roots that can compromise the stability of the soil, making it unsuitable for construction work.

Japase knotweed

Invasive plants are generally not spread by seed, but rather are being spread when cutting or mowing activities occur as the live material can regenerate; also it is common for the rhizome/root material to germinate when moved or disturbed within the soil.

Due to the vigorous growth of invasive plants, they can cause structural damage to surface areas where cracks appear and cause structural damage in buildings after breaking through the mortar and pushing the masonry apart.
To control this plant early we use a range of treatments ranging from chemical treatment to mechanical processing and removal.
